CACOPHANY

Footsteps walking slowing time.
Footfalls waking sleeping minds.
I've walked and worn the welcome mat
Prayed aloud, played all out, times like that
Coming and going, watching and growing,
Trying the tried always trusting the trusted
Enough to be never content ‘til new paths invented.
You're shocked to see me ready gun cocked
Melophile, guilty once in a while, emerges unlocked.
Hear me pacing my own history.
Here now facing my own mysteries.
Besides inside I thought outside the box,
Sorry for trespassing past your locks
My vision surpassing mental prison
Not afraid of pain to gain precision,
No room for parroting others' indecision.
Tell me, what's the cause of our everyday division?
Hear the screeching silent blind intention.
Feels like I'm making nightmares truer:
Always walking into past tragedies,
Dwelling, a casualty in terrifying scenes.
Riding black waves of horror-ridden memories.
Fears, drowning in song, return, only fewer.
Cuz singing cautionary melodies
I've learned to guide myself into better dreams.
Calming the terror of bitter memories.
Singing casually at all the wrong times,
Singing casually with all the wrong rhymes
Music may not be as carefree as it seems.
Strangled sound saving from internal malady:
Stop this, I won't become yesterday's casualty.
Old chains; no I can't stay restrained
Offering a cachophony demanding change
Know I'll keep each promise I make.
To rise from their coffin unchained.
From fear free and I resonate.
See myself before you today.
Not locked up in some hospital room
Or in similar prisons all far away
Cuz I'm here for you while I sing in tune.
Singing casually at all the wrong times,
Singing casually with all the wrong rhymes
Music may not be as carefree as it seems.
Strangled sound saving from internal malady:
Stop this, I won't become yesterday's casualty. ❧
